About

WHAT WE DO

For over forty years the Chamber has worked to improve the livability and economic environment of our community. We are a nonprofit organization without any paid staff. All of our work is performed by Board members, Chamber members, and volunteers. The Chamber hosts two major events each year – the Hazelnut Fest and the Volksfest.  The goal for these events is to bring people to town, offer a place for local artisans to share their craft, and have some fun.  Making money is also a goal of these events so that we can give back to our community.  We use this money for ongoing projects like our 4th of July parade & firework show, decorating the town with flower baskets during the summer months and holiday decor during December, maintaining the fountain and granting two $2,000 scholarships each year to graduating JFK seniors.

Our fundraising efforts also allow us to support multiple student organizations and local non-profits. Over $40,000 in the last decade alone have gone to support:

  • Mt. Angel FFA

  • JFK FBLA

  • Senior Class All Night Grad Party

  • Scotts Mills PTC

  • JFK Track & Cross Country

  • Legion Post 89

  • Mt. Angel Robotics

  • Mt. Angel Historical Society

  • Mt. Angel Library

  • Father Bernard Youth Center

  • Mt. Angel Community Foundation

  • NW Habitat for Humanity

  • JFK Booster Club

  • Silverton's Center Stage

  • Marion County Citizen's Band
