WHAT WE DO
For over forty years the Chamber has worked to improve the livability and economic environment of our community. We are a nonprofit organization without any paid staff. All of our work is performed by Board members, Chamber members, and volunteers. The Chamber hosts two major events each year – the Hazelnut Fest and the Volksfest. The goal for these events is to bring people to town, offer a place for local artisans to share their craft, and have some fun. Making money is also a goal of these events so that we can give back to our community. We use this money for ongoing projects like our 4th of July parade & firework show, decorating the town with flower baskets during the summer months and holiday decor during December, maintaining the fountain and granting two $2,000 scholarships each year to graduating JFK seniors.
Our fundraising efforts also allow us to support multiple student organizations and local non-profits. Over $40,000 in the last decade alone have gone to support:
